TROMSØ - Bukta Open Air Festival 20th July 2007

69 Degrees 38 minutes and 4.57seconds North, the most northerly gig that we've ever played and our first in Norway for five years. Tromsø is a place of outstanding natural beauty and, being above the Arctic Circle, enjoys 24 hours of daylight at this time of year, saving us the bother of employing a lighting man. Much merrymaking and confusion over bed time ensues.

Smoking ban is enforced at Heathrow under pain of death. London, Heathrow. The torrential rain is just starting as we head for the runway Five minutes later we've left it all behind. Oslo airport's free public transport system. The brigadier is happy to be on the good ship Supergrass
It's not very often you have a big tug outside your bedroom. Looking down the quay at the dark waters surrounding Tromsøya island Mike demonstrates the veiw from the back of our dressing room. That view in a bit more detail. Demps makes friends with one of the locals
Gurrrrah. Tne modernist Arctic Cathedral or "opera house of Norway" Roald Amundsen stares into the mists of the mountain. Conqueror of the Antarctic and explorer extraordinaire, Roald E. Amundsen The dirigible Norge which transported Amundsen over the North Pole
Popeye pulls into Tromsø harbor. Never show fear in the face of an inquisitive polar bear. It's little Olaf, the baby seal Run Olaf, that man's about to bash you brains out. We haven't had a shot of the rider for so long, here ya go.
An over excited Gaz returns to the dressing room after a blistering reformance. It's true, midnight sun Mike and Gaz dissect the finer points of the performance at huge length in the dressing room. Nutters A sub machine gun originally used to ward off hungry polar bears.
Gaz prepares for a bit of sight seeing around Tromsø. Hello sailor. Mike meets the chocolate moose. Last sight of the snow strewn fjords
