In It For the Money: Recorded in 1996, the title was not finalized until two months before release, making it difficult to come up with a cover 'concept'. In fact we were offered 200 quid (pounds sterling) each to hurry up and name it cause the printing presses were waiting to roll, making the final decision that bit easier (we never saw the cash).

The original album cover concept was an oil painting  of the three of us curled up in Sawmills' round kitchen window and painted by Maff Burley, an old school mate of Danny's . Maff spent about three months  painting it from a photo and in the end we didn't like it. Typically we dithered until the album had been shipped to Japan before we got our asses into gear and decided to change it.

To replace the painting we had to think fast and came up with the 'busking' idea. Shot in a spare 10 minutes during the making of the 'Cheapskate' video. Of the photo session, a number of final choices were made. Check out what you could of had. It was after we picked the cover where Gaz looked most like the monster in 'Big Foot & the Hendersons', that we noticed something strange lurking in the backround and we still don't know who it was.

Inside picture and back cover were lifted for Nick & Dom's American video for 'Lenny'. We wanted something dark and moody that represented the Supergrass live experience.
